A beloved local festival dedicated to the delectable crustacean.

Head up Highway 17 North to Awendaw for the annual Blue Crab Festival.  2024 marks its 27th year.

They’ll be serving fresh blue crabs by the bucket, in your choice of three flavors  -  traditional, garlic, or Cajun.  It’s your chance to pick to your heart’s content, with friends old and new in a wholesome outdoor setting.   More than 3,500 folks showed up in a recent year, so get advance tickets if possible.

Here are the details….

  • Saturday in early October from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
  • The venue: the lovely 300-acre Town of Awendaw Municipal Park, complete with 50 acre blue water lake;
  • For your GPS, the park is located at 7990 Doar Road, Awendaw;
  • Crabs available for purchase by the bucket, plus plenty of popular local food truck options;
  • Live Music;
  • More than 50 art, craft & retail vendors;
  • Beer and wine available for purchase;
  • Free Kid Area;
  • Hayrides!
  • Tickets just $10 per person for general admission.  Kids 12 and under are free.
  • Free parking while available.
  • Limited VIP ticket options available.
