The votes have been tallied. The winner has been declared.
We are quite proud to announce that Exclusive Properties has been voted the best vacation rental company in Charleston!
It’s part of The Post and Courier’s annual Charleston’s Choice Awards. Winners were celebrated recently at the Charleston’s Choice Gala at Festival Hall, in historic downtown Charleston.
The Post & Courier
The Post and Courier is Charleston’s main, and quite esteemed, newspaper. It’s even won a Pulitzer Prize.
Charleston’s no newcomer to the newspaper biz. In fact, the Holy City’s flagship paper has roots going all the way back to 1803, when it was founded as the Charleston Courier. It’s officially the oldest daily newspaper in the South, and the largest in the State of South Carolina. It’s also one of the oldest continuously running papers in the country.
So, we’re talking about 223 years of journalistic tradition and experience. To say they know Charleston well would be an understatement.
And the readers of The Post and Courier are very savvy people who probably know the area the best and have strong, well-formed opinions. And they’re not afraid to share those opinions - in a polite way, of course! This is Charleston, after all.
Charleston’s Choice Awards
2026 marks the 11th time The Post and Courier has conducted the awards, and this year over 100,000 people cast votes.
Voting was held in over 370 categories, in areas like arts and entertainment; food and dining; health and wellness; recreation, leisure and outdoor (including vacation rentals, EP’s winning category); pets; professional services; shopping; drinks and nightlife, and more.
President and Publisher P. J. Browning had this to say: “As a trusted news source and a locally-owned business, The Post and Courier values the input and feedback from our readers – we couldn’t do the work we do without you – and that’s why it’s always special to share your favorites in this annual publication.”
A handy resource for visitors, by locals
You can access the names of all the winners in their special edition of Charleston’s Choice 2026 winners. It’s a terrific resource for your visit here to the Charleston area.
These are the places and activities which have been given the official stamp of approval by Lowcountry locals.
Publisher Browning added this, “Reading about the remarkable people and places in the Charleston area affirms my belief that the Holy City is the best place to live [or visit, I might add]. A place that fosters creativity, encourages entrepreneurs, and makes the most of our beautiful natural environment. When we choose to invest in our community and support the hard-working folks who make it happen, it’s a win-win for everyone.”
Exclusive Properties: Charleston’s Choice for Vacation Rentals
Exclusive Properties is proud to be a family owned business. Shelley and Mel Miles started the company by renting their own house on the Isle of Palms, growing and expanding in remarkable ways over the years. They helped spark and shape the rental of luxury vacation homes here on the Isle of Palms, aka Charleston’s premiere beach island.
They love sharing the experience of staying in a beach house with family and friends, building memories that last for decades.
EP now manages a portfolio of over three dozen of the most beautiful beach homes on the IOP. Twenty of those are oceanfront, 35 have private pools, and we even have sixteen that are pet friendly.
A recent review from a guest…
EP is also a very guest-friendly company. We’re here to help you have the very best time at the beach.
Here’s a recent review by someone who stayed in Beach Daze, EP’s vacation rental at 1004 Carolina Boulevard:
“Very professional team managing the property and regularly available if help is needed. The house worked well for a big group and an easy walk to the beach and bar/restaurant scene.” - Mark
When you come to the beach, choose Charleston’s Choice for vacation rentals…
