Choosing to spend your holidays in a vacation home is a great idea. You’ll have a sparkling clean, neutral home base where family and friends can gather, and everyone can pitch in with the host- and hostessing duties. Pick one with plenty of room so everyone can stretch out and have privacy, then come back together to enjoy meals in the gourmet kitchen and dining areas. And choosing a vacation home in the Charleston area is an especially good idea.  Charleston is charming at all times of the year, but it’s downright enchanting during the holidays! There is such an abundance of festive merriment going on right now that’s guaranteed to get you in the holiday mood.  From holiday markets to parades (including one with boats in Charleston Harbor), tree lightings and concerts galore, festivals of lights and Santa all over the place… the Lowcountry has a plethora of all things holiday, including guides to different genres of events (holiday lighting, markets, restaurants open on Christmas Eve and day, gift giving ideas and “giving back” options as well).

Holidays are better at the beach

By selecting one of Exclusive Properties’ luxury island homes, you’re a short drive from historic Charleston peninsula, but you’ll also get a beach vacation at the same time. Here’s a link to a handy packing list from the travel gurus from AFAR.  It suggests things to remember to bring to your vacation rental at the beach.  While it’s geared toward summer visits, the weather in the Lowcountry can be quite balmy in the “so-called” winter.  Plus, many of Exclusive Properties' homes have pools which can be heated for your swimming pleasure.

Some added suggestions of things to remember when booking a vacation home for the holidays….

  • Call ASAP to secure the perfect vacation home for your needs. Exclusive Properties has an extensive portfolio of luxury beach homes near Charleston, but they book up fast.  Charleston’s been named a top place in the world to visit, so the word is out.
  • If you’re spending the holidays in a vacation home, consider bringing things from home that have special meaning… like stockings to fill, a game you often play, a favorite holiday movie or music album, or some other beloved family tradition.
  • Don’t forget to bring your favorite holiday recipes!  And cook up a batch of Grandma’s special cookies together.
  • Many of EP’s vacation rentals are pet friendly… so you can even bring your beloved four-legged family member to celebrate with you.

So consider spending the holidays at the beach near Charleston.  If you’re interested in some of the most luxurious vacation homes around, just give Exclusive Properties a call  -  we’ll be glad to help make your holiday dreams a reality. All best, Lowcountry Lisa your Isle of Palms vacation blogger
