 spring forward

March is notorious for being a little confused about what season it’s in.  You have lions and lambs, then lions again before hopefully the lamb settles in for good.

One sure sign of spring’s arrival happens this weekend.  Saturday night  - or more precisely, Sunday morning at 2:00 a.m. -  remember that we spring clocks forward an hour.

So few people seem to wear watches anymore, and a cool thing about most new tech is that it automatically adjusts itself.

But if you’re here in one of our Isle of Palms vacation rentals or a Folly Beach house Charleston – actually, in any of our SC vacation rentals  –  you may need to make adjustments.  Our luxury beach house rentals SC tend to be quite large, so you may notice a lot of appliances and clocks with the wrong time.  Just add an hour… or if you feel so inclined, we’d be thrilled and delighted if you adjusted the clocks in your Charleston beach house!

This weekend is also the Wine + Food Festival (see last blog), which is in full swing.  Tickets still remain, but they’re limited.  The 10th annual festival ends Sunday.

Supposedly Mardi Gras was last month, but the events keep going on.  And on.  Tomorrow there’s yet another one that looks to be fun if you’re in any of our beach rentals Charleston, especially a luxury house on Isle of Palms.

It’s Island Gras, a free celebration at Front Beach on the IOP, from noon till 4:00 p.m.  They’ll be blocking off the section of Ocean Boulevard between J. C. Long Boulevard and Pavilion Drive, and there’ll be plenty of food, beverages, craft vendors, local businesses and organizations.  There’ll also be live music by the Dave Landeo Band and local rising star Haley Mae Campbell on the heels of her debut album release.

All our beach house rentals Charleston are super kid-friendly, and so is Island Gras.  There will be jump castles, face painting, a photo booth, balloon artist and more for the kids.  Oh – and also a mechanical bull!  (That may be more for the teens and adults).

Here’s the webpage on the IOP’s website:

Spring Flower Show

Cypress Gardens is a favorite among folks coming to visit the Lowcountry.  It’s where they filmed the classic scene of Allie and Noah in the canoe, among the cypress trees and all the white birds, in the movie “The Notebook.”

Today through Sunday there’s having their 8th annual flower show, this one entitled, “Broadway in Bloom.”  Area floral designers will strut their stuff in Dean Hall at Cypress Gardens.  This show has won both state and national honors.  Participants include: Camellia Garden Club of Greater Charleston, The Garden Club of Otranto, Belle Isle Garden Club, Town and Village Garden Club, and Berkeley Hills Garden Club.

There’s no extra charge after regular admission to the gardens.  Here’s a link with more:

So spring forward.  And remember, when you searching for rental homes South Carolina  -  namely, Isle of Palms luxury rentals  -  Exclusive Properties has the best.

All best,
