Well, this past weekend’s SEWE marked the kickoff of festival season in Charleston, when rental homes South Carolina are increasingly in demand. The early numbers are in, and it looks like the 36th annual SEWE drew a very hefty 45,000 people to the event.  Other notable SEWE stats:

  • 10% increase in attendance; (previous years  -  2017: 43,000; 2016: 40,000);
  • 15% increase in online (advance) ticket sales;
  • 40% increase in weekend art sales;
  • VIP tickets sold out in mid-December, the earliest ever.

SEWE President and CEO Jimmy Huggins had this to say:  “Incredible crowds, incredible sales, and we couldn’t be happier for our event and the city of Charleston.  I hope this is an indicator of what is to come for the 2018 tourism season." SEWE is considered one of the best wildlife art events in the nation.  Mark your calendars now  -  the dates for the next festival:  February 15-17, 2019.  And no, it’s not too early to book a Charleston beach house.
