Special days come in all shapes and sizes and colors, and we’re approaching an orange and black one.

Holidays can be a great time to get away.  There’s something about heading off to a Charleston beach house, be it a luxury house on Isle of Palms or a Folly beach house Charleston that just hits the reset button.

Ah, the reset button.  Ah, rental homes South Carolina… nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina in the morning, waking up just steps from the ocean and the uncrowded beaches.  The weather right now is just wonderful  -  there’s a freshness to the air, and it’s a perfect time to walk along the water and revive your senses.  It’s an ideal time to stay in SC vacation rentals, when the rates are lower and the crowds minimal.

If you are in one of our Isle of Palms vacation rentals right now, there’s a pre-Halloween treat in store this evening.  It’s Ghostly Tide Tales… eerie but family-friendly ghost and pirate stories that relate to the Lowcountry.  It’s sponsored by the IOP Rec Center and will feature storyteller Eric Lavender.  There will also be hot chocolate for all.  Bring lawn chairs or blankets and a flashlight, and meet at the 28th Avenue beach access on Palm Boulevard a little before 6:30 p.m. this evening. That’s just steps from many of our Isle of Palms luxury rentals.   Here’s a link to the town’s website: http://www.iop.net/departments/ghostlytidemovie.aspx

Ted's

There are a couple other fun events happening this weekend, and they’re both convenient to all our beach rentals Charleston.

First up, it’s Ted’s 10th Anniversary Block PartyTed’s Butcherblock is a local favorite, offering truly gourmet meats and dishes of all sorts, and it’s become a fixture of the downtown culinary scene.  It’s a perfect place to snag a picnic lunch or dinner to take with you to the beach.  It’s hard to believe they are already celebrating their 10th year in Charleston.

They’ve also become known for their super-fun and delicious block parties, and this one promises to be the best yet.  It’s going on tomorrow  -  Saturday, October 17th  - from 11:30 a.m. till 6:00 p.m.  Highlights include:

  • Special ribs (Painted Hills Beef Short Ribs), gourmet seafood specialties including a Block Party Seafood Boil, and burger menu items (Wagyu Steakhouse Burgers, anyone?)
  • Signature Anniversary Brew craft beer on tap, from Edmund’s Oast… plus some mystery beers
  • Loads of food and bevs, samples and giveaways
  • Live music by two bands: The Bushels and the Garage Cuban Band

Ted’s is located at 334 East Bay Street downtown Charleston.  Here’s a link to more from their website:  http://tedsbutcherblock.com/all-event-list/10-yr-anniversary-block-party/?date=2015-10-17

Speaking of holidays, also going on this weekend is a great way to get a jumpstart on some of that Christmas shopping with unique artful gifts.  It’s the 8th Annual Autumn on the Ashley, a craft fair with over 50 vendors of sculpture, paintings, wood carvings, pottery, jewelry, photography, textiles and gourmet items.  It takes place at the scenic Magnolia Plantation, and admission to the vendor area is free.

It goes on this Saturday and Sunday, October 17-18, from 9:00 a.m. till 5 p.m.  This event was originally scheduled at an earlier date but was postponed due to the rains.  But the weather this weekend promises to be glorious.

Oh  -  and a quick reminder, if you’re coming into one of our luxury beach house rentals SC, tomorrow is the ALS  H.O.P.E. 5K Beach Run/Walk here on the Isle of Palms, starting at 6:00 p.m. at Front Beach.  Read more about that HERE.

So start getting in that holiday mode, be safe, and remember to call EP for the very best in beach house rentals Charleston SC.

All best,
