great gas prices if you're heading to a luxury house on Isle of Palms

If you’re heading to one of Exclusive Properties’ SC vacation rentals, be it a luxury house on Isle of Palms or a Folly Beach house Charleston, chances are you’ll purchase gas.  Even if you fly, you’ll probably rent a car to get around the Lowcountry.

Well, there’s more good news on the gas price front, just in time for the holiday season.  Consider it an early Christmas gift.

Gas prices have been in the news a lot lately, as I covered in previous blogs (here, here, here as well as here).

And the good news keeps coming down the pike, as the average gas price is now the lowest it’s been since the recession, in 2008.

The national average price per gallon for regular unleaded just dropped yesterday to $2.01, according to both AAA’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report and GasBuddy… and many estimates suggest it will in fact dip below the two dollar benchmark.

This latest low is almost 53 cents less per gallon than it was at this time last year.  So all that money you’re saving, you can put towards something much more fun than gasoline  -  like a private chef for your Charleston beach house, or an upgrade to one of our luxury beach house rentals SC.

Jeff Pelton, GasBuddy’s senior petroleum analyst, has this to say:  “[People ask,] ‘Can it get even lower?’  Yes, it can.  There is simply too much crude oil out there for gas prices not to decline. ... Expect refineries to do their part to get through the glut of crude on hand, and that will put pressure on gas prices to fall the next month or so.”

A total of 26 states now average below $2 per gallon, including the Palmetto State.

Our beloved state of South Carolina usually has the lowest gas prices in the nation, yet another reason to visit rental homes South Carolina for your vacation.  Sure enough, we are still the lowest, tied with Kansas and Missouri at $1.78 per gallon.  This is 57 cents lower than it was at this time last year in SC.

A Christmas Spectacular!

As I covered in THIS BLOG, the calendar has been filled with great special events, including some holiday markets and Nutcracker performances yet to come.

There’s another annual holiday spectacular which can only be seen in Charleston and still has several performances left to catch before it disappears until next December.

It’s the Charleston Christmas Special, now in its 20th season.

It’s a razzle dazzle holiday extravaganza put on by former Broadway stars Brad and Jennifer Moranz, and includes musical numbers and comedy sketches that are both fun and family-friendly.  The production is new and fresh each year, although some favorites do make repeat appearances over the years, like the ventriloquist/comedian Michael Minor.

More than 10,000 people see the show each year.

New to the cast this year include Malia Davis, from the traveling Broadway cast of “Evita,” and Rodney Archie, who’s principal soloist with the Harlem Gospel Choir.

The remaining shows take place Thursday through Sunday at the Charleston Music Hall at 37 John Street downtown, an easy drive from all our beach house rentals Charleston SC, both Isle of Palms vacation rentals and Folly Beach rentals Charleston.  You can find all the details and ticket info at their website:  http://bradandjennifermoranz.com/

Special note: they’re offering a Kids’ Free Night December 17th only  ----  One free child’s ticket with the purchase of an adult ticket.  Call etix for more info: 1(800) 514-3849.

So enjoy the great gas prices, and check out some of the terrific holiday events going on this week.  And as always, remember to call Exclusive Properties for the very best in Isle of Palms luxury rentals.

All best,
