Summertime is a great time to stay in SC vacation rentals.  The weather is warm, and the waves are good  -  perfect to hit the beach near your luxury house on Isle of Palms.  A great many of our beach house rentals Charleston SC are oceanfront, so you won’t have far to go. And while it’s not quite summer yet, there are a few things popping up that hint it’s not too far off.  Like the first appearance of the Sullivan’s Island Farmers’ Market which happened yesterday and which I covered in that last blog.  It’s super convenient, just across Breach Inlet from our Isle of Palms vacation rentals.

Something else happened yesterday which heralds that summer is near.  Last night was the first home game of baseball season in the Lowcountry.

Take me out to the ballgame near our SC vacation rentals...

Our beloved Charleston RiverDogs played their first home game against the Kannapolis, NC Intimidators.  The RiverDogs won, 6-4.  Go, Dogs! They’ll be playing here for the next several days.  The RiverDogs play at “The Joe,” Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, named after Charleston’s beloved former mayor.  It’s an easy drive from all our luxury beach house rentals SC. From your beach house Charleston, head to Highway 17 and take it all the way onto the peninsula and the Crosstown, and turn right onto Lockwood.  You can’t miss it.  It’s located over toward the Citadel.

Here is a fun fact: the team is co-owned by none other than the Saturday Night Live alum and movie icon, Bill Murray, whose official title is, “Director of Fun.”  As you might imagine, considering that last fact  -  this isn’t just any team, or ballpark, or milieu.  The RiverDogs are known for their zany promotions as well as for their creative cuisine, which I touched on in this blog.  Plus, it’s just a wholesome, very fun way to spend an afternoon or evening.  It’s got something for everyone staying in your Charleston beach house, and is a fun outing on the peninsula when you’re here in one of our Isle of Palms luxury rentals. The following is from the Post & Courier, the news source for all things local to the Lowcountry.

Sunday vs. Intimidators: “MUSC Health Family Sunday in the Holy City and Kids’ Opening Day” with the Holy City pinstripe jerseys and kids from the MUSC Children’s Hospital will try to run the show, from ticket-taking and the PA announcements, to making concessions and more.
