New on the IOP: Amazing Fresh Bagels!
An exciting new business has just opened on the Isle of Palms, and the island is buzzing about it.
No wonder. They make the very best bagels I’ve ever tasted outside of New York City. And honestly, I think they’re giving Manhattan a run for their money.
Jeff’s Bagel Run has landed
Jeff’s Bagel Run is a cool young company that’s making a big splash here in the Lowcountry.
They make bagels fresh in the store all through the day, cooking them the authentic way – boiled & baked, NEVER toasted – so they have that satisfying thick crust with a chewy center. They’re bagel perfection.
And just wait till you see all the flavors and combinations of bagels and spreads.
How it all started…
The original location is near Orlando, Florida. The story of how they got started is pretty sweet. Jeff Perera and his lovely wife Danielle had moved to Florida from the NY/NJ area. One day, she was lamenting how she missed starting her day with a good bagel.
Well Jeff, good husband that he is, decided he’d try to make her one. So he set about learning how to make bagels. After a lot of trial and error, honing his skills, Jeff finally hit upon the perfect method. He decided to set up shop in 2021, and soon bagel aficionados (many of whom were transplants from New York) flocked there to get their fix. The rest is history.
They’re on a major roll.
Word spread quickly about just how extraordinary Jeff’s bagels really are. Before you knew it, they won second place in the big bagel competition in New York, BagelFest – unheard of for a company outside of the Big Apple.
And through a bunch of talented people coming together – including some from right here in the Lowcountry – Jeff’s Bagel Run is now growing like wildfire. They’re opening five locations all around Charleston this spring/summer. The first one launched on Clements Ferry Road/Cainhoy near Daniel Island three weeks ago.
Just this past week, May 15th, they cut the ribbon on their gorgeous new Isle of Palms location. It’s situated right as you come off the IOP Connector, at 1400 Palm Boulevard - convenient to all our IOP rentals.
Check out this video by the Isle of Palms Chamber of Commerce, showing the store’s grand opening and a peek inside, where the bagel magic happens.

Jeff’s Bagel Run - IOP
1400 Palm Boulevard in Ocean Park Plaza
(on the right side of the shopping center, just before you get to the IOP County Park and the beach)
Open seven days a week, from 6:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
The Isle of Palms location will have drive-thru service starting in the next couple weeks. Fun fact: this will be the only drive-thru of any kind on the Isle of Palms. It’s also going to be the first drive-thru location for the company. It’s a perfect way to grab a box of bagels to take back to your Isle of Palm luxury rental home.
In the next couple months, Jeff’s Bagel Run team will open three more Lowcountry locations, in this order - Bee’s Ferry in West Ashley, Indigo Square in Mount Pleasant (near REI), and James Island near Camp Road.
After that, new shops will spring up in Columbia, Greenville, Asheville, Savannah, Athens, Augusta and beyond.
So bring home some real Manhattan quality bagels right here on the Isle of Palms. Friends/family staying with you in your Charleston beach house will thank you.
All best,
Lowcountry Lisa
