Bon appétit, y’all!
It’s that time of year again, when you can sample some of the spectacular cuisine Charleston is famous for, at special prix-fixe menu prices.
Charleston Restaurant Week happens twice a year, in January and September, traditionally slower times for the hospitality industry. What started as an idea to boost business soon turned into a major event on the culinary calendar, with up to 150 restaurants participating.
Most offer dinner options, although some have lunch and brunch options as well. Here’s your chance to eat at Hall’s Chophouse, named one of the best restaurants in America in several different national rankings. Or try such Lowcountry favorites as High Cotton, 82 Queen, Butcher & Bee, Mex 1 Coastal Cantina, Hyman’s Seafood, Slightly North of Broad, Grace & Grit, Indaco, Coastal Provisions, Stars Rooftop Bar & Grill and Rutledge Cab Company.
The official Restaurant Week website allows you to filter restaurants by location - downtown Charleston, Isle of Palms/Wild Dunes, Sullivan’s Island, Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island, West Ashley, James Island/Folly Beach, Summerville, Nexton and North Charleston. There are links to special Restaurant Week menus along with official websites and booking options.
Word to the wise: Reservations are highly recommended as spots fill up fast.
