Celebrate all things pickle! (yes, there will be pickleball).
Here’s a very cool idea for a mini-festival… “Pickles, pickleball, and everything else we can relate to a pickle. It will be a briny bash!”
It's called Pickle Palooza, and the inaugural event took place Saturday, September 21st from 1:00pm till 7:00pm, at Ferry Wharf in Mount Pleasant, overlooking Charleston Harbor and the Ravenel Bridge.
It's officially back in 2025, with a brand new venue - The Rickhouse, on James Island at 1734 Signal Point Rd. Check out the website for all the deets on Pickle Palooza II: A Briny Bash. Hours are 1:00pm - 6:00pm, with the dance party/rave from 9:00pm till 1:00am.
Here’s some of what was at Pickle Palooza..
- Pickle eating contest and pickle tasting flights;
- Pickle Juice Chug Challenge;
- Plenty of pickle-infused foods, from pizza to ice cream, at food trucks and stands;
- Plenty of pickle-flavored beverages;
- Live music & entertainment;
- Pickle dancers and pickle 'gladiators;'
- Pickle photo ops, pickle toss, pickle merch, pickle pops, pickle cornhole;
- Interactive pickle demonstrations;
- Pickleball courts, coaches & players demoing their best moves; with special Intro to Pickleball and pickleball challenges.
