Isle of Paws Music Fest

The Isle of Palms loves dogs.  And its Rec Center hosts a popular annual Saturday event that’s all about them.  In the past, it's been known as Doggie Day at the Rec.  But in 2024 they've changed it up a bit, moving it from February to May, and it's now known as Isle of Paws Music Fest!

You and your dog(s) are welcome, whether you live here or you're staying at one of our Isle of Palms pet friendly vacation rentals!

The Rec Center is located in the middle of the island, at #24 28th Avenue.  Outside are ballfields and playgrounds, and inside are plenty of facilities and meeting rooms.  Head inside to the gymnasium for all things canine.

You’ll find exhibitors galore, vendors, rescue groups with adoptable pets, and lots of health and wellness resources for your dog.  Check out the vaccination and microchip clinic, annual IOP dog licenses (for residents), free pet photos, and the Canine Good Citizenship Test which is offered onsite. 

Then, beginning at 10:30, they’ll host a fun dog show with prizes.  Categories include: Cutest Puppy (under one year), Most Handsome (one year +), Best Male Rescue, Best Female Rescue, and Best Dressed.  No charge to enter, but they ask that you register ahead of time.  Details and form are on the website.

Doggie Day at the Rec is a wholesome event that even won an Achievement Award from the Municipal Association of South Carolina.
