Community Wellness Fair

The Isle of Palms hosts an annual event to help you along the path of good health and wellbeing.  It’s the IOP Community Wellness Fair, a partnership of the City of IOP, East Cooper Medical Center, and Delta Pharmacy, which is conveniently located right here on the island.

The Wellness Fair takes place on a Friday morning in the fall at the IOP Rec Center, conveniently located in the middle of the Isle, at #24  28th Avenue.   In 2023, it was October 6th from 7:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m.  (Note: 2024's date is tentative, so stay tuned.)

East Cooper Medical Center staff will be there offering free cholesterol screening blood work, testing HDL, LDL and triglycerides.  You’re asked to fast from anything but water starting at midnight the night before.  They’ll supply food and beverages for you after you take the test.

Delta Pharmacy, located across the street from Harris-Teeter on the Isle of Palms, will offer flu, pneumonia, shingles and/or tetanus shots.  They’ll be free if you show an insurance or Medicare card.

Register online for either or both of these online here.

You can also consult with more than a dozen health professionals, specialists and wellness resource people.  They’ll be offering information, freebies and concrete steps to a healthier, happier you.
