Holy Smokes! BBQ on the IOP

It’s an IOP favorite event.  The men of the IOP Methodist Church – the picturesque white church located in the dog leg of Palm Boulevard – are firing up the grills and cooking up their yummy barbecue once again.  Not only is it delicious, but it’s also a fundraiser for a great cause  (five of them, actually).

There will be a convenient drive-thru pickup, so you won’t even have to get out of your car.  You can get a complete BBQ dinner with fixin’s for just $10, or BBQ by the pound if you'd prefer.   And just ask a local  -  it's delicious.  The BBQ is of excellent quality, freshly prepared by master barbecuers.  The pitmaster's a pro from Shelby, NC.

Here’s the scoop:

• Saturday in early May (and often October, too), from 11:00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m.
• Located at the IOP United Methodist Church, at 12 21st Avenue;
• A generous pork BBQ dinner platter w/ baked beans, cole slaw, pickles and roll for just $10;
• Also available: a one pound cup of BBQ with no sides, great for freezing, just $12;
• Organized to serve you quickly without you leaving your car;
• Large assortment of desserts made by the United Women of Faith, separately priced, also at drive thru;
• Order ahead by Venmo (https://venmo.com/u/MethodistMensClub) as explained on the website, or pay at drive thru with cash, check or Venmo;
• All BBQ net proceeds from sales and donations will be contributed to 6 local charities  -  East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO), East Cooper Meals on Wheels, ONE 80 Place (for Veterans and Homeless), HALOS (for foster care by grandparents), and My Sister’s House (for victims of domestic abuse).
