Get DirectionsIn a new tradition for the holidays, the Aquarium is all lit up.
The SC Aquarium is always a great place to visit, and thanks to a new event, the holidays are an ideal time to check it out.
2021 marked the inaugural year for Aquarium Aglow - a very special immersive holiday light spectacular. It was wildly popular, so they are bringing it back for even more dates beginning in November.
Tens of thousands of lights fill the Aquarium, “from elegant and innovative to festive and nostalgic.” There was live entertainment, music, food and beverages available, including wine and beer for those 21 and over.
Aquarium Aglow happen on select evenings in November and December, including a festive New Years Eve celebration. Special tickets are required for specific dates and times, and you can purchase them on the website. Toddlers through age 2 are free. Tickets are limited, and dates sell out fast.
The South Carolina Aquarium is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and proceeds help to fund their good work throughout the year.
