It’s that time of year again, when you can sample some of the spectacular cuisine Charleston is famous for, at special prix-fixe menu prices.
Charleston Restaurant Week happens twice a year, in January and September, traditionally slower times for the hospitality industry. What started as an idea to boost business soon turned into a major event on the culinary calendar, with up to 150 restaurants participating.
Most offer dinner options, although some have lunch and brunch options as well. Here’s your chance to eat at Hall’s Chophouse, named one of the best restaurants in America in several different national rankings. Or try such Lowcountry favorites as High Cotton, 82 Queen, 39 Rue de Jean, Butcher & Bee, Coastal Provisions, Hyman’s Seafood, Slightly North of Broad, Grace & Grit, Indaco, Stars Rooftop Bar & Grill and Oak Steakhouse.
The official Restaurant Week South Carolina website allows you to filter restaurants in the state by location. Options include the City of Charleston, Isle of Palms, Sullivan’s Island, Mount Pleasant, James Island/Folly Beach, Johns Island/Kiawah, Summerville, North Charleston, or "the Charleston area." There are links to special Restaurant Week menus along with official websites and booking options.
Word to the wise: Reservations are highly recommended as spots fill up fast.
