Located in the center of the Isle of Palms, this modern rec center offers many fun facilities including ball fields (soccer, softball and baseball), lighted hard surface tennis courts, outdoor and indoor basketball, a large children's playground, picnic shelter, frisbee golf course, gymnasium, cardio workout/exercise room (with treadmills, recumbent cycles, elliptical machines), and a large fenced-in off-leash dog park with separate areas for small and large dogs.
There is an extensive calendar of events and classes - drop-ins welcome - including aerobics, yoga, pilates, barre fitness, Zumba, adult hip-hop, semi-personal training, tae kwon do, salsa, tennis, and kids' sports and seniors' activities. Check their website for seasonal happenings throughout the year, including a health/wellness fair, a giant community yard sale, theater productions, holiday celebrations, etc.
Run by the town of the Isle of Palms, its mission statement is: "To provide a wide range of quality recreational, athletic and leisure services to include the children, youth, adults and senior citizens in a safe, attractive and well maintained facility that meets the current and future needs of the community."
