The first building designed for use as a theater in America, the Dock Street is both historic and vibrant. On the National Register of Historic Places, it has recently emerged better than ever from a $20 million, three-year restoration effort. Located in the French Quarter district, it is home to Charleston Stage, South Carolina's largest professional theater company, as well as numerous special events throughout the year including Spoleto.
